We suggest you choose a contractor before you select the material to be used in roofing or repairing your roof. This gives you the advantage of having an expert consultant "on board" as you begin process of selecting one manufacturer and one style from the hundreds of available choices. A qualified contractor will protect you from confusion and help educate you, without a "manufacturer's bias."

Here are some key questions to ask your contractor with regard to material selection:

What is the manufacturer's warranty?

Is the warranty pro-rated?

Is the warranty transferable? If so, is there a fee to transfer the warranty?

What is your (the contractor's) level of experience with the manufacturer?

Where do you (the contractor) buy your material (contact the supplier to inquire about contractor's standing and longevity with the supply house)?
